Today, in the comfort of modern living, there's no more efficient way to cook, heat and provide constant hot water whilst capturing the romantic spirit of of a by-gone era. Today's ESSE run on oil, gas and electricity, though there are still many of the original coal-fired ESSE's working today. But despite all the technical advances in the inside , the exterior good looks still remain one of the outstanding features of an ESSE. Stunning polished stainless steel hotplate covers lift effortlessly on superbly engineered hinges, and its smoothly enamelled cast iron surfaces will retain their lustrous colour for a lifetime.

WHAT WE PUT IN TO AN ESSE IS THE KEY TO WHAT YOU GET OUT
Outstanding Ovens
Perhaps the secret to why ESSE's cook so superbly can be found in the way their ovens work. Heat flows around the outside of the ovens through a series of heavily insulated flueways. This heat is then transferred to the oven interior through super-conductive walls producing an even gentle flame. Because there is no uneven, direct heat or harsh flames to dry the food, juices and flavours are sealed in, ensuring maximum taste. The generous second oven operates at approximately two thirds the temperature of the main oven and because the ovens are vented directly to the flue, you can happily cook sweets and savouries together without fear of impairing flavours. The Electric ESSE differs slightly in that its ovens are indirectly heated by elements which means you don't need a flue to vent away hot gases.

Clean and hygenic
As well as making cooking a pleasure, your ESSE will save you time and effort thanks to its self cleaning ovens. When used constantly, food splashes and spills carbonise inside the oven which are simply swept away from the base as dry deposits.

Unique "dog bone" hotplate
The variable temperature cast iron hotplate is both highly efficient and extremely versatile. It will quickly heat up from cold and retain that heat for highly economical operation. The electric ESSE features a unique ceramic glass hotplate that has two sets of concentrically expanding limits. Each can be set to the required coverage and regulated to the desired temperature setting, enabling you to boil up to six large pans or gently simmer just one small one.

Thanks to its wide range of boiler output options it's the ideal way to heat your home, whatever its size. An ESSE is a great way to provide enough piping hot water to satisfy the needs od every size of household. You can choose a 'cooking and hot water only' model if you prefer to run your central heating fromanother source.
